Stutthof Museum

Visiting

Administration of the museum, Archives and Search Office open to the public:

  • Monday to Friday from 7.00a.m to 3.00 p.m.

Exhibitions of the museum open daily:

  • from May 1st to September 30th: 8.00a.m till 6.00p.m
  • from October 1st to April 30th: 8.00a.m till 3.00p.m
  • On Mondays no guide service and no film shows

Owning the organization and security factors the last entry into the Museum is possible one hour before it closing (till 5 PM - summer season, till 2 PM - after season)

Information presented by permanent exhibitions is completed with documentary films concerning the time of Nazi - ocupation. The following films are shown (sets 20-30 min in duration):

  • Ambulance - 10 min
  • Gallows of Stutthof - 15 min
  • Konzentrationslager Stutthof bei Danzig - 30 min.
  • Albert Forster - 20 min.
  • Stutthof - 12 min.
  • Requiem for 500 000 - 20 min.

The cinema room is situated in the ex-headquarter`s building. Northern entrance. During summer shows are held every half an hour from 8.00am until 5.00pm. After the season by request from visitor groups (minimum 15 persons). Admission fee: 3 PLN / person.

Entrance is free. Charge only for guided tours. Guides in English or German language available only by request in advance. Sightseeing of the camp area and the expositions of the museum takes up to 2 hours.

Reservation of a guide in advance is obligatory. There is a link to a special ordering form below. This order must include: name, address and phone number of orderer, number of visitors, time of arrival and information about chosen language. Orders of schools, universities, tourist offices, institutions et cetera, placing by phone call must be confirmed by fax +48 055 247 83 58. No confirmation means no guide provided. The price for guided tour is 140 PLN / group in English, German or Russian.

In case of more than 30 min arrival delay without prior notice, Stutthof Museum is not obliged to secure a tour guide for this group. When the notified group doesn't arrive, purchaser may be charged to cover the expense of a guide reservation.

According to regulation No.10 of the Ministry of education dated March 6th 1963, children under 13 years are not allowed in the museum. Pupils of the higher classes of primary schools should be accompanied by adults.

From Gdansk:

  • Through Sobieszewo, by ferry across the Vistula river in Świbno, through Mikoszewo and Stegna - route is 40 km long
  • Route 7 through Kiezmark, Nowy Dwór Gdański and Stegna - route is 65km long
  • Route as above to Kiezmark and after the bridge over Vistula River towards Drewnica, through Mikoszewo and Stegna - route is 55km long

From Elbląg:

  • Through Nowy Dwór Gdański and Stegna - route is 45 km long
